How the Colorado Air National Guard improved supply operations

An immediate need for improved Base Supply operations at the Colorado Air National Guard at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado required a more efficient storage solution.

They selected Spacesaver High-Density Storage Systems for their weapons and mobility bags to save space and encouraged a change in functional operations.

One Spacesaver Powered System with lockable Universal Weapons Racks stores all their weapons in one universal rack. The racks are designed to provide uniform storage for everything from M16’s or M4’s to 9mm’s and M240’s without any structural modifications to the racks. The racks also make it easy to account for and maintain weapon inventories. The Universal Weapons Rack (patent-pending) meets physical security requirements as outlined in OPNAVINST 5530.13B and is manufactured exclusively by Spacesaver Corporation.

The second powered system stores more than 4,000 mobility bags
 
as well as spare and back up items for additional bags. Now during deployment, bags are located and retrieved in a matter of minutes versus several hours, as in the past.

“The efficiency we have achieved with Spacesaver systems is immeasurable. Because our operation is so efficient, we’ve been able to remove obstacles for people to get their jobs done and have seen morale boosted,” said Captain Brinkman.
